Columbus Escape Rooms:

Edison’s Lost Invention II

(Our newest escape room adventure coming the Fall of 2025!)

Our newest Columbus escape room is a multi-room room escape game adventure that is expected to open the Fall of 2025. Currently being constructed, Edison’s Lost Invention is an incredibly fun, private escape room experience that will appear in our Columbus escape room line-up at Magic Escape Rooms. We are working on the set and prop details for this game. (We’ve recently shared some drawings of one of the props on our blog.) The story and game play are finished. See below for continual updates with the project.

While we cannot share too much detail, we will tell you that this new and unique escape room is based off of our original story from our (portable) Columbus escape game by the same name. Created way back in 2018, thousands of people have played it. The “new” iteration of the Edison game will definitely not resemble the original; we’ve reimagined the Columbus, OH escape room successor into a much bigger, multi-room adventure. It’s detailed story will unfold as it is played. Like the Magician’s Secret, escape game players will find themselves within another place and time for an adventure uncovering the “Wizard of Menlo Park’s” personal, secret project.

3/19/25 UPDATE: We are just a few weeks away until we can start constructing our new Edison escape room adventure. As soon as we add some additional updates to the Magician’s Secret in Columbus, the set build will begin. Check out this prop rendering for the new Ed game!

4/29/25 UPDATE: We’ve begun framing walls and building the props that will be used in this exciting, downtown Columbus escape room! Rumors have been told of Edison working in secret at a hidden room inside the Commerce Building back in the 1920s. It was a fascinating time of the discovery of King Tut’s tomb and its cultural influence on Americans. Edison, himself, was inspired by this find and worked with… to develop… Hmm. More to come later!

6/17/25 UPDATE: Lab workbenches, hanging wall cabinet, shelves, and wall framing have been built. Currently, we’re hard at work on the set wall decoration within the main area of the new escape room game. It will involve quite a bit of carving and faux painting to create the ancient antiquities brought here from Africa. This may be my favorite part of the build due to the techniques we are using. Stay tuned!
